Bipolar disorder is a psychosis in which the patient alternates between
depression and
mania,
although an individual patient may exhibit predominantly one state or the other.
It is outside Dr. Weyrich's scope to prescribe antipsychotic drugs to treat bipolar disorder,
but Dr. Weyrich can provide adjunctive therapies that may be very beneficial, and allow the
doctors prescribing antipsychotics to minimize the doses (and side effects).

Treat the phasic
depression or
mania as indicated.
Take care not to overshoot and change the patient from a depressive state to a manic state
or vice-versa.
Omega-3 oils are believed to help stabilize mood in bipolar patients.
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
According to the Low Dose Naltrexone home page [LDN], LDN has been seen to benefit
depression and bipolar.
Dr. Weyrich has been trained in the use of Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN).
However, Dr. Weyrich has not treated any cases of depression and bipolar with LDN.
HPN has been reported to be useful for treating bipolar disorder
[Snook], [Willis].
Dr. Weyrich has been trained in the use of Neuro-Gen High Performance Neuromodulation
system by it's inventor, Corey Snook.
However, Dr. Weyrich has not treated any cases of bipolar disorder
with this technique.
Neurofeedback has proven useful for treating and bipolar disorder.
Dr. Weyrich has been certified in neurofeedback since 2008, and more recently
completed an additional residency training program at ADD Clinic of Scottsdale, AZ.
Dr. Weyrich has not treated any cases of bipolar disorder using this technique.
