Dr. Weyrich is a physician licensed to practice as a Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) in Arizona. He provides precision evidence-based diagnosis and treatment using the best of genomics, functional, and naturopathic medicine to patients who choose to self-pay for services not covered by insurance, so that his patients can optimize their health, vitality, and longevity.
He has been in private practice in Arizona since his graduation from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (Tempe, AZ) in 2007, and currently offers his services in Payson and Phoenix, Arizona. He also earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Tennessee (1981), and is ABD in Computer Science and Engineering from Auburn University (1984).
Dr. Weyrich is a board Certified Health Practitioner Diplomate in the Clinical Science of Anti-Aging by The American Board of Anti-Aging Health Practitioners (ABAAHP), and is Board Certified in Neurofeedback, Fellow by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. He is also certified in functional diagnostic medicine by the Functional Medicine University. He has been a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging (A4M), the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (EndoANP), and has been an associate member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
There is a growing body of evidence that disorders as varied as aging, traumatic brain injury, post-concussive syndrome, autism, AD(H)D, anxiety, depression, epilepsy, stroke, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, autoimmune diseases, irritable bowel, inflammatory bowel, Alzheimer's, diabetes, as well as other chronic and degenerative diseases, all share common features of hormone imbalances (thyroid, adrenal, sex, growth hormone), neurotransmitter imbalances, brainwave imbalances, immune system imbalances, inflammation, nutritional imbalances, gut dysbiosis, leaky gut, food sensitivities, and environmental toxicity.
Combining several different treatment techniques in a systems approach is often synergistic and achieves far better results than can be obtained from specialists who focus on only one modality. As such, these disorders all respond to variations on the same genomic testing, precision functional medicine diagnostic work-up, and naturopathic treatment protocols using bio-identical hormones, amino acid testing and balancing, neurofeedback, nutrition, and immune system balancing. When appropriate, Dr. Weyrich also prescribes conventional medications to provide immediate relief while underlying causes are addressed more naturally. In some cases, Dr. Weyrich also provides acupuncture, spinal manipulation and other physical modalities.
Because Dr. Weyrich practices "outside the box" of conventional (allopathic) western medicine, as defined "by the book" of the insurance companies, most of the treatments he provides are not covered by insurance. Rather than compete with conventional allopathic doctors who can accept insurance, Dr. Weyrich focuses on providing complementary and alternative care that is not covered by such insurance. Dr. Weyrich encourages all his patients to also have a conventional allopathic doctor (MD, DO, NP, etc), so that they can access primary care services covered by insurance. Dr. Weyrich is happy to coordinate care with conventional allopathic doctors, but generally speaking, these doctors are constrained by your insurance company to only order tests and treatments that are approved by your insurance company, and cannot or will not order additional tests suggested by Dr. Weyrich.
