I graduated with a Ph.D. from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville in December, 1982.

My dissertation is entitled "Computer Applications to the Study of the Thermodynamics of Coal Liquid Interactions and to the Study of the Protonation of Weak Organic Bases" and was directed by John W. Larsen.

In addition to majoring in Physical Organic Chemistry, I earned a Minor in Biochemistry and completed additional graduate level coursework in Computer Science.
