OVERVIEW

Important vitamin for supporting energy production in the Krebs Cycle (also called the Citric Acid Cycle or the Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle) and the electron transport system that occur in the mitochondria of our cells.

Used to make oxidized and reduced forms of flavin dinucleotide, which are commonly written as FAD+ and FADH2, respectively. In addition to supporting energy production in mitochondria, riboflavin plays an important role in oxidation/reduction reactions, which are an essential component of human metabolism.
