No part of this book may be used or reproduced in any manner without written permission except for brief quotations embodied in critical articles and reviews. It is unclear what is meant by the may be used ... in any manner clause. Why would anyone buy a book that they had no permission to USE? Presumably the purchaser of the book is permitted to make use of the material in the book for personal self-improvement. I might hazard a guess that the copyright restriction is intended to preclude using material in the book to teach others, even if each member of the class has been provided a copy. Given the other great books on creativity that are available, I have not been particularly motivated to contact the publisher for clarification.
