This book is on my shelf awaiting further review.

An alternative to the 5-Minute Consult series, this is also a handy desktop reference for diagnosis and treatment of various maladies that a primary care physician is likely to encounter.

This text seems a bit more dense reading than the 5-Minute Consult, and if I had to choose one, I woud pick the 5-Minute Consult instead. In addition, the 5-Minute Consult appears to be updated more frequently.

However, there is sufficiently different perspective in this text to merit inclusion of both books on the practicing physician's desktop. Just as it is handy to keep a couple different translations of the Bible on hand to fully comprehend the meaning of the more obscure passages, so also with this text and the 5-Minute Consult.

I have taken this program and I highly recommend it to all health-care providers - Orville R. Weyrich, Jr PhD NMD.
